Common questions about Optum HouseCalls

During your HouseCalls visit, you will have the opportunity to meet with a licensed health care practitioner. This practitioner may be a nurse practitioner, physician assistant or physician.

Similar to the health care practitioners you encounter in a traditional doctor's office, our staff members are state-licensed and hold national certifications. This ensures they have met the necessary qualifications and standards to provide quality health care services.

We also conduct thorough background checks on our practitioners, further ensuring that you receive care from a trusted and qualified professional.

Members who complete a HouseCalls visit may be eligible to earn a reward. Reward offerings may vary by plan and are not available in all plans. Reward Program Terms of Service apply.

Ask your health plan if you are eligible to earn a reward for completing a HouseCalls visit.

No. A HouseCalls visit is available to eligible plan members and is not intended to imply you have a specific condition or disease. The visit does not take the place of your regular visits to your primary care provider (PCP). Having a HouseCalls visit does not affect your health care premium or coverage.

If your family member is enrolled in an eligible health plan, they can also have a HouseCalls visit at no cost. Each eligible member must schedule their own HouseCalls visit.

A HouseCalls visit does not replace your relationship with your primary care provider (PCP). You can schedule a HouseCalls visit in addition to your regular appointments with your PCP. A summary of the visit is sent to you and your PCP. You also get a personalized checklist of things to talk about at your next PCP visit.

Check with your health plan before you schedule a visit with us. Call the phone number on the back of your health plan membership card (your health plan ID) for more information.
